Being a Druid is about being devoted to experiencing life in a rich, respectful way as we take our place in the natural world we were born to be part of.
Druids focus on experience, holding only a few simple beliefs – that we should all fulfil our potential, as long as our actions are not harmful to others; that we are connected to the natural world in a wonderful way, and that it’s worth taking time to notice and celebrate this, meeting every 6 weeks throughout the year to stay in tune with the seasons and in touch with each other on our sacred journeys of life. Because these beliefs are so simple, it’s easy to combine Druidry with other spiritual paths or religions.
Over this weekend we will co-create a ceremonial group journey, learning about key aspects of modern Druidry as part of the process:
- Ceremony – honouring the elements, ancestors and spirits of place, co-creating ritual together and speaking from the heart.
- Bardic tradition – chanting, bringing ancient stories to life, playing music
- Ovatic practice – divination (basic astrology and druid tarot and animal cards) and healing (connection with earth, spirit and loving kindness to relax, breathe, meditate and be well).
- Reflection on our commitment to community, the environment, and fulfilling our own beautiful potential.
As Druids, we take the process seriously, but try not to take ourselves too seriously, so if you come you’re likely to have fun!
Hope to see you there!
